With this page, we move from the 1970s into the 1990s. For some reason, throughout most of the late 1980s we didn't take too many pictures, so if you worked at the Roxy during that time and have pictures laying around, send them in and we'll put them here for all to see.

(NOTE: All of the females on these pages will be referred to by their "maiden" names.)

Michelle Mogen started work at the Roxy when she was still in junior high school, and like most of our crew members, she didn't quit until she graduated. This picture was taken in the late 1970s.

Milinda Mogen, Jill Browning, and Kym Chessmore in 1982

L-R: Vera Krueger, Dala Pahrman (neither of whom worked at the Roxy) along with employees Jill Browing and Kym Chessmore. The movie playing: Star Trek II, The Wrath of Khan. Also check out the "Rocky III" poster in the upper left corner. Mike and Tom in mid-1979 at 3:00 in the morning, after painting the concession stand a delightful shade of yellow (which was obtained by mixing six different colors of paint together). The poster behind Tom is for Disney's "101 Dalmatians."
For the 1982 movie "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas," we decided to dress our employees up as dancehall girls. Amazingly, they agreed to wear these costumes. To add to the fun, we decorated the lobby with hay bales and other farm-related stuff. L-R: Kym Chessmore, Jill Browning, Joyce Risse. Note the pictures from the movie "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" behind Kym.

Ericka Swanson lived in Belfry. Her dad, Bill, was a teacher, so they spent summers on her grandparents' ranch near Forsyth. She worked at the Roxy for two summers. This picture is from 1982.

Tracy Martens, Clarisse Coate and Mary Hekkel enjoying a pre-movie workout, or something. The display behind them is for the Tom Selleck movie "Lassiter."

Tom Clifford in one of his rare serious moments

Heather DeCock, Diane Eve and Reena Gilje worked at the Roxy in the late 1980s. (This picture, quite obviously, was not taken at work but at Heather's bachelorette party.)

It's always tough to lose good workers to high school graduation, but in 1992 we lost three at once: Keely Strong, Laurie Smith, and Andi Schulenberg. If you look close, you can see Mike panicking about training new workers.

Shari Nickisch and Sandra Blakesley at the concession counter in the late '80s

Another graduation picture, from 1995. The wind was howling, and this time we lost four great workers. L-R: Sherri Brunner, Alisa Propp, Heather Cope, Gina Clifford

Megan Taylor and Heather Cope (1994)

Shayla Luhman and Jamie Lange (1997)

Showbiz is not all glamour and tinsel, as Sherri Brunner demonstrates by cleaning out the carpet sweeper. Even though the work is a giant pain, she's still smiling, proving once again that a movie theatre is a great place to work! (1994)

Gina Clifford and Heather Cope can't believe they get to work together again! (1994)

Past Roxy Crew Members

This page contains pictures we've collected over the years of our crew members. We don't have statistics from before 1979, but since March of that year, over 50 different high school students have worked for us.
