Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion

< PREVIOUS PAGE     NEXT PAGE >

Top: This area in Miniatureland is the spot where we used to display our model Case steam engine.  My grandfather used to stretch out for an occasional morning nap in the shade of the oak tree behind the straw pile

Left: The Rollag show started with a bunch of people getting together to do some threshing, and while it's maybe a bit harder to spot the threshing among all the other activites at the show, it's still a thrill to watch.

Below left: Plenty of young people will keep the Rollag show going in the future, as this young engineer operating a half-scale engine will tell you.

Below right: Another threshing scene, showing the big Case 80 running the separator.

One of the biggest projects taken on by the Rollag people is the 353 Soo Line locomotive. The engine was taken apart, shipped to Rollag, and reassembled (after complete restoration, and after a mile of track had been laid).  The engine pulls a train of freight cars that have been modified with bleachers so hundreds of people can ride around the grounds and catch great views of many of the exhibits.
