JUNE 1979

The summer of 1979 was the first summer in nearly 20 years that the Roxy was open. In prior years, the Starlite Drive-In was the only movie choice in town during the summer. However when we bought the theatre, we found that the bank would not give us the "summer off" so we had to keep plugging away, drive-in or no drive-in. But we still managed to give ourselves plenty of time off, by only being open on the weekends.
