AUGUST 1981

Fantasy and action ruled the movies this month, as we featured (in my opinion, at least) the best of the Superman movies, SUPERMAN II (note the pre-9/11 New York skyline in the background), along with the debut of Indiana Jones in RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. The only non-action film of the month was the Richard Pryor comedy BUSTIN' LOOSE, which, considering the amount of business it did, should have just been titled "Bust."

Due to complications arising from tight booking schedules, this was the last calendar the Roxy produced. We began sending out a fax-based calendar weekly in the mid 1990s, and became one of the first theatres in Montana to have a e-mail newsletter every week, and our website made its debut in early 2003. So we're still getting the word out about the movies, but now we're using more high-tech ways of doing it.
